These new compositions for baritone saxophone are featured on David Larsen’s upcoming album
Borrowed Time. These works showcase modern jazz techniques with a nod to the Cool school of
the 1950s. Working to achieve a more compositional approach to jazz, David Larsen adds longer
forms that unfold with the piece. Influenced by extensive study of Gerry Mulligan, Al Cohn, and
Bill Holman, David Larsen’s works highlight strong melodies and warm textures using his baritone
saxophone.
